Adapted from the Emilie Richards novel “Duncan's Lady” the story follows Duncan Sinclair, who reluctantly returns home with his young daughter to Puhoi, New Zealand, to negotiate with his estranged mother over the sale of the now dilapidated family hotel. Upon meeting the unconventional new local doctor Mara Turner, Duncan’s view of the old small town softens, and he is forced to confront his painful past.
